In celebration of National Eye Health Week, our Spitalfields’ store optician shares her top tips to keep your vision as sharp as it can be!
Tip 1. Screen breaks. Regular screen breaks, keeping in mind the 20/20/20 rule. After every 20 minutes spent on the computer, a person should look away 20 feet, for 20 seconds, allowing the eyes to refocus, helping with good tear exchange, and the reduction of dry eye symptoms.
Tip 2. Fitted Eyewear. Not only does a good fitting frame help with comfortability, but it also ensures that the wearer is viewing through the correct optical centres in the lenses providing the best visual correction.
Tip 3. UV Protection. Choosing a larger frame provides greater facial coverage allowing for maximum protection from harmful UV rays.
Tip 4. Eye tests. The importance of regular eye tests, even if there has not been an obvious change in vision, can help detect other health concerns, such as diabetes, cancer, and arthritis. Book your next appointment at one of our stores here.
