Cutler and Gross have been actively engaged in the arts for over 50 years, always committed to creating and maintaining strong bonds with other creative industries. As such, the characters in our Autumn Winter 22 campaign are portrayed by people from different creative spheres – an artist, a DJ and filmmaker, an activist, and a model.
Leading the campaign is legendary British musician, DJ, and Filmmaker Don Letts, most notably recognised for his influence in the dub-reggae and punk scene in the 70s with his influential DJ sets at the Roxy.
Letts has directed music videos for the Clash, The Pretenders, Sinead O’Connor and Elvis Costello, to name a few. Though his pioneering work with The Clash is his most celebrated to date, winning Letts a Grammy for Best Long Form Music Video for Clash: Westway to the World (2000). Letts currently hosts a weekly Sunday night show on BBC Radio 6 Music called Don Letts’ Culture Clash Radio.
The Cutler and Gross Autumn Winter 22 collection boasts five new designs, three opticals and two sunglasses, inspired by Graham Cutler’s vast personal archive of 1950s and 1960s Americana films, books and eyewear. Explore the full collection here.
As well as fronting our new campaign, Don Letts has curated a mix for our ongoing soundVISION Spotify series. Named ‘Rebel Dread’ by Letts, it’s a typically eclectic assortment of musical genres that have inspired him in his own creative process during his esteemed career, you can listen to it here:
