“The Cutler and Gross customer has always been an individual. Eccentric maybe, but a rare breed, certainly.”

Graham Cutler

With Graham Cutler’s words in mind, it’s worth remembering that face shape guides for glasses and sunglasses are general recommendations and not hard and fast rules.

However, we know how important it is to understand your face shape when choosing glasses to complement your features. One on the lesser recognised face shapes is the heart shaped face, but this it relatively easier to pair with a wide range of glasses.

What are the characteristics of a heart shape face?

You’ll have a broader forehead, a pointed narrow chin and well defined, high cheekbones.

For heart shaped faces, we recommend looking for shapes that minimise the top of your face and make your chin look a little wider. Frames with deep lens shapes, such as squares, rectangles and aviators, or frames that have pronounced temples can do this. The bold and angular 1385 and 1386 are good for this illusion.

Sheer colours like the ‘Granny Chic’ and semi-sheer/ opaque materials in ‘Humble Potato,’ ‘Prawn Cocktail’ and ‘Butterscotch’ are bold without concealing your cheekbones, see the 13921305 and 9768.

Sydney (pictured) wears the GR04 Optical in Red Havana, this angular frame with accentuated temples from the The Graham Cutler Collection complements the heart-shaped proportions her face.
